Specialised Wood Design
- Get to know Vanhout -
This story started long ago in the small Bushveld town of Naboomspruit. Jaco’s father, Frik Venter built Grandfather clocks from beautiful Tamboti wood which he cut down and dried himself. As a small boy Jaco observed his father closely and it was not long before Jaco started to experiment himself. Soon after he began his own projects which proved to be the starting point of Jaco’s fulltime career in woodwork. Vanhout was established in 1995 by Jaco Venter.
Clients with specific needs and architects with dreams caused Vanhout’s skills to be honed. Skills that are used daily in furniture design, cabinet making and joinery.
Vanhout specialises in the design and manufacturing of top quality, beautifully crafted pieces of furniture, using solid wood. Vanhout’s beautiful pieces of bespoke furniture will live on as being both elegant and functional.
Vanhout believes in beauty, a fair curve and perfect proportion and uses techniques such as Mortise and tenon, dovetails and more. Varying from modern to traditional styles, each piece is made to fit its owner. Creativity and a deep respect for wood are blended into a labour of love so that a particular piece of furniture will perfectly fulfill the role it needs to play in its appointed room.
